Greetings from our cozy corner,

We’re Alex and Taylor. Founders, lifelong friends, wanderers at heart, and endlessly curious about the world and the people in it.

After we moved to different countries, we found small, whimsical ways to stay close. Long letters. Voice notes. Postcards with imperfectly perfect handwriting. Photos of cool buildings, sweet street animals, and the way the sunlight was shining through a winding alleyway in a small town in the Mediterranean.

The slow, messy kind, where we shared the cozy and mundane bits of our day, glimmers from our travels, and the little lessons we gathered from the people around us.

That led to the creation of our company, RoHaus & Co., and our first product, Cozy Corner Post, a snail-mail subscription that ran for 6 cozy months. 53 of you paid us to keep doing it.

And what you kept asking for came back to the same thing every time: more of us! Our stories. How we make wherever we are feel like home… again & again & again.

So we listened.

We send each other voice notes almost every day. Silly stories from the morning. Anecdotes from when we lived together in that little attic apartment above a gezellig cafe on the canal.

The occasional “oh wow, you have to hear this crazy thing that just happened to me.” One night, we joked about starting a subscription for our stories. Then we realized we actually meant it.

Here’s the thing about us. We’ve been storytellers since we were small. From the make-believe adventures we built in the woods of the Upper Peninsula as kids, to the “long story short” stories that always turned into long story long ones across the ocean, we’ve been yapping to each other one way or another for a long time now.

In high school, we swapped stories while working the night shifts at Alex's family's deli, making sandwiches, scrubbing mountains of pots and pans, and chipping away at the built-up ice inside the walk-in case (the kind you had to crawl all the way into to de-ice).

We also acted side by side in the drama club, sang together in the schoolwide talent show, and competed in the storytelling category at speech competitions. We both placed, and even won a few!! Holding a room full of strangers, with nothing but our voices. Later, we became counselors at a summer camp in the woods. Cabins of girls, campfires after dark, the two of us telling the stories we’d been told until the girls were telling their own.

Through Long Story Long, we’ll be telling our tales to you.

The name Long Story Long comes from our conversations. Both Taylor and I love to add all the extra details and background info to our tales… so instead of long story short, we say long story long. It’s an invitation to linger longer, stretch our imaginations, and work on our active listening skills, haha.

So that’s what this is.

Our cozy corner of the internet for the kind of storytelling that pulls you in and keeps you a while. Voice notes from wherever we happen to be. Written travel tales we’ve been carrying around for 15 years. Photos from our days, the small ordinary things we notice on a random Tuesday morning, and little tips for bringing more cozy and intention into your own life.

Cozy is a resistance. It starts small. You slow down enough to notice, you feel grateful for what you noticed, and then you quietly cheer on someone else doing the same.

Here’s the why under all of it.

We’ve been practicing this kind of life for a few years now. Choosing to rest, to pour into ourselves and the present moment, to notice what was already there. Alex healed a lot of her anxiety through small, intentional acts of self-care. Taylor found joy building a whimsical little life for her family. We both learned that rest, feeling safe and cozy, don’t have to be earned.

Once you've got a little of that steadiness, it flows from you (in the best way). You're softer with your partner, more patient with the new cashier working a long checkout line, quicker to text a friend back. And it just keeps going!

We grew up in the 90s, and we miss that analog feeling, so we’re carving out a place to bring some of it back. Somewhere to exhale, hear a good tale, get lost in a voice note, and tag along with two friends as they wander through this cozy little life.
